This document is a translation of the French version of the terms of use. As such, in the event of a dispute over interpretation, the French version shall prevail.

The present terms of use (hereinafter "TU") provides a legal framework for the terms and conditions of this website (hereinafter "Website") and services it offers, and define the guidelines for the user (hereinafter "User") that accesses and uses our services.

By signing up for or using the Website, the User accepts the present TU unconditionally and without reservation.

If the User does not accept the present TU, they relinquish their right to access the services offered on the Website.

Liability

Parisiam agrees to make every possible effort to ensure the Website is available to Users at all times. However, Parisiam shall not be held liable in the event that the Website is unavailable for any reason whatsoever.

The User of the Website acknowledges having read the present TU and agrees to comply with them.

The User acknowledges being in possession of the necessary means and skills to access and use the Website and acknowledges having verified that their computer and hardware are virus-free and in perfect working order.

Parisiam cannot guarantee that the information published on the Website is accurate or complete, or that the Website is always functioning properly or totally secure.

Parisiam agrees to make every possible effort to provide Users with available and authenticated tools and information but shall not be held liable for errors, missing information, and/or the presence of viruses.

The User accepts full responsibility for any of the tools and information they use on the Website.

Protection of personal data

Parisiam may collect and process the personal data of Users wishing to access the Website and use its functionalities. This data is mainly collected by way of the registration form, cookies, and any other form on the Website.

Parisiam is required to collect your personal data in order to process your inquiries and your application with Parisiam. Personal data is processed primarily by the organizer of the event and the participating institutions.

Users have, within the limitations imposed by applicable data protection regulations, the right to query, access, rectify, delete, or object (on legitimate grounds) to the processing of their personal data.

Intellectual property

The Website as a whole, as well as each of its individual elements (e.g. specific programs and developments and content such as data, text, still and animated images, logos, sounds, graphics, files, etc.) are the exclusive property of Parisiam or third parties who have granted Parisiam a license. Any full or partial reproduction of the Website or any of its individual elements without the permission of Parisiam is prohibited and would be considered an act of forgery punishable by Articles L.335-2 et seq. of the French Intellectual Property Code.

All database data appearing on the Website is protected by Articles L.341-1 et seq. of the French Intellectual Property Code. Any substantial reuse or extraction of this data, in terms of quality or quantity, is punishable by law.

All brands and logos appearing on the Website are the registered trademarks of Parisiam or third parties. Any full or partial reproduction, imitation, or use of these unique features without express permission or in violation of Articles L.713-2 et seq. of the French Intellectual Property Code is punishable by law.

All other unique features, in particular the corporate names, logos, slogans, trade names, banners, and domain names reproduced on the Website, are the property of Parisiam or third parties, and any reproduction of these features without express permission is likely to be seen as copyright infringement punishable by Articles 1240 and 1241 of the French Civil Code.

Links

Parisiam shall not be held liable for the terms of access and content of the links that are offered to third-party websites.

Users may not create a deep link to the Website without the prior written permission of Parisiam.

Cookies

The User is hereby informed that, while browsing the Website, cookies may be automatically placed in the User's browser.

Cookies are small files temporarily stored on the User's computer hard drive by the browser. They are necessary in order to use the Website, and they save information for future Website use. A cookie contains a unique identifier that is randomly generated and thus anonymous. Some cookies expire at the end of the User's visit, while others remain.

When the User first visits to the Website, the User is informed of the various types of cookies that may be placed in the User's browser. General provisions

The fact that Parisiam has not required the temporary or permanent enforcement of any of the clauses in these TU does not in any way mean that a clause shall be waived.

The present TU do not offer any guarantee or exclusivity with regard to the provision of services by Parisiam.

Despite the care that has been taken to draft the content of the Website, errors and omissions can still occur. The present TU therefore offer no guarantee with regard to the Website’s content, which we encourage you to verify. If you have a doubt, please feel free to contact us (see our Legal Noticies).

In the event that one of the clauses of the present TU is annulled by an applicable legal or regulatory provision and/or a judicial decision having the force of res judicata, it shall be deemed invalid without affecting the other clauses, which will remain fully valid.

A new clause may replace the clause that is deemed invalid, provided the new clause retains the substance and the economic impact of the annulled clause as much as possible.

Modifications

Parisiam reserves the right to modify the content of the present TU at any time and without prior notice. The User is therefore urged to consult it regularly.

Applicable Law

The present TU are governed by French law.

The present privacy policy explains how by this website (hereinafter "Website") collects and uses the personal data of the user (hereinafter "User") that accesses and uses our services.

What data do we collect?

The Website collects different data according to the type of User:

Students:

  • Personal identification information (Name, email address, phone number, date of birth...)
  • Education information (Degree, field of study, university...)
  • Study plan (Study plan, degree wished...) and funding plans
  • Language skills
  • Current or latest professional experience
  • CV

Institutions:

  • Personal identification information (Name, email address, phone number)
  • Professional information (position, institution name, address, website...)

All Users:

  • Standard Internet log information obtained from the browser.

How do we collect the Users' data?

The Users directly provide the Website with all of the data we collect. We create and/or process the Users' data when:

Students:

  • When the Users sign up on the Website.

Institutions:

  • When the Users sign up on the Website or when we create the Users' profiles on their behalf.

All Users:

  • When the Users visit the Website.

How will we use the Users' data?

The Website collects the Users' data so that we can provide the following services to the Users:

Registered students:

  • Process the students' applications.
  • Email the students when the participanting institutions make or cancel an appointment.
  • Email the institutions when they make or cancel an appointment.
  • Let the institutions consult the students' data in order to select the ones they want to meet.
  • Share the students' data with the organizer of the event and the participating institutions so that they may offer their services.

Registered institutions:

  • Let the students consult the institutions data in order to select the ones they want to meet.
  • Email the instutitions when the students make or cancel an appointment.

Unregistered Users:

  • Analyse the visitors' behavior information, monitor and analyze web traffic.

How do we store the Users' data?

The Website securely stores the Users' data on a server (see Legal Noticies page).

The Website will keep the Users' data for a maximum duration of 1 year. Once this time period has expired, we will delete the Users' data or keep an anonymized version for our internal processes.

The organizer of the event and the participating institutions might keep the Users' data according to their own privacy policy.

Marketing

Registered students:

The Website will not contact the Users after the event for which this Website was created. However the organizer of the event and the participating institutions might send information to the Users about their services before, during and after the event.

The Users have the right at any time to stop the organizer and the participating institutions from contacting them for marketing purposes, and can contact us at the email address below if they no longer wish to be contacted.

Other Users:

The Website will not contact the other Users for marketing purposes.

What are the Users' data protection rights?

The Website would like to make sure the User is fully aware of all of its data protection rights. Every registered User is entitled to the following:

The right to access* – The User has the right to request us for copies of its own personal data. We may charge the User a small fee for this service.

The right to rectification* – The User has the right to request that we correct any of its information the User believes is inaccurate. The User also has the right to request us to complete the information believed to be incomplete.

The right to erasure – The User has the right to request that we erase its own personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing – The User has the right to request that we restrict the processing of its personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to object to processing – The User has the right to object to our processing of its personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to data portability* – The User has the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to the User, under certain conditions.

* When the Users can sign in, these operations can and should be done by the Users themselves.

Our contact information is provided below if the Users would like to exercise any of these rights. If the Users make a request, we have one month to respond (except for the rights notified by a *, which can be performed by the Users themselves after signing in).

Cookies

Cookies are text files placed on the Users' computer to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behavior information. When the Users visit the Website, we may collect information from the Users automatically through cookies or similar technology.
